SCHMIDT® Press Control 4000

SCHMIDT® Press Control 4000 is a control unit for the operation of compact, standardized single press stations as well as complex, highly flexible assembly automation systems. The capability of the SCHMIDT® Press Control 4000 in conjunction with the SCHMIDT® Servo Press modules makes the need for additional controls obsolete. All configuration and operation parameters are managed and documented via the control unit SCHMIDT® Press Control 4000.

• Control is based on an industry PC
• Operation of up to 6 Servo Press modules or NC axis via CAN bus
• Multi-functional process control PLC for a customized process and user interface. The scan rate is 5 ms and is independent of the length of the program code. The PLC is in constant communication with the process data acquisition and the CNC.
• Integration of more than 2000 I/O
• Integrated process monitoring
• Quality evaluation based predefined monitoring criteria and thus a safe detection of “failed” parts.
• Optional statistical documentation with SCHMIDT® SPC statistical process control software
• User-friendly, intuitive menu guidance

  - Set-up mode via hand wheel
  - Cycle mode via function key

Integrated hand wheel (for set-up mode)
Can switch to any CNC axis with selectable resolution to simplify set-up of an operation. The press ram can approach a desired target based on distance or force increments via hand wheel.

Number pad
Integrated membrane keypad for the input of numerical values and choice of functions.

Function keys/soft keys

Customizable membrane keys to simplify operation.

Control elements
Essential machine functions are clearly arranged as buttons on the operating panel, e. g. Control ON/OFF (if components are delivered without control button).

Emergency stop button
Separates the motor electrically from the drive, and a mechanical brake is activated. This guarantees safe stopping of the ram.

Track ball
Substitutes an integrated mouse, robust element adapted to any work environment.
